Stuck on Repeat

The car rumbled over hundreds of tarantulas as it drove across central Texas.

“Isn’t that the same cactus we passed an hour ago?”

Brian looked at Gypsy in the back seat and gave her the “don’t make me stop this car” look. She sighed and looked out the window.

It was early afternoon when she first noticed the man on the side of the road waving at them as they passed. She waved. An hour later, she saw him again and started to say something but changed her mind. Only Gypsy noticed they were stuck in a time loop — again.
